Congratulations to a group of our 8th grade STEM students, as well as their Technology/Engineering and Science teachers, Mr. Knapp and Mr. Gottlieb! Mekenzie Jackson, Olivia Badie,  Sarah Tory, and Luma Younis (pictured above) were selected as one of only 16 national winners for their group project submitted to the Lexus Eco Contest--Air and Climate Challenge. This group's winning idea involved researching and developing a motorcycle engine that runs on compressed air as a potential solution to the tremendous pollution problem in Haiti. This winning group, along with their teachers and TMS, has received a prize of $10,000 to be split among them. They are now entered into the next round of this challenge, making them eligible for a $15,000 or even $30,000 prize.
